KP govt removes chairman BISE Peshawar

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has removed the Chairman of the Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE), Peshawar, Nasrullah Khan, from his office just two weeks before the matriculation examinations and has given additional charge to Commissioner Peshawar Riaz Khan Mehsud in his place.

According to a notification issued by the Elementary and Secondary Education Department, Nasrullah Khan has been directed to report to the Higher Education Department immediately.

The matriculation examinations are scheduled to start in the second week of April, and at such a time, various circles are expressing concern over the change of chairman.

According to education experts, this decision can create many problems regarding the arrangements for the examinations.

Board sources say that the change of chairman may affect ongoing administrative matters. However, government officials believe the decision to charge an additional fee has been taken temporarily to maintain administrative continuity.
