PESHAWAR: To educate the new generation in the field of Artificial Intelligence, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has decided to integrate Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the higher education sector.
According to a statement issued by the Higher Education Department, an Artificial Intelligence Center will be established at the University of Engineering and Technology (UET) Mardan. The statement said that UET Mardan will work on policy formulation, training and research regarding AI, while all higher educational institutions of the province will be part of this program.
It has been further said that master trainers will be prepared in various fields of AI and the fee of the training program will be kept lower than the university fee.
It should be noted here that Universities in Punjab have launched full-fledged departments of Artificial Intelligence, while in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, it is being studied as a subject, not a full-fledged department like Computer Science and Information Technology.
