Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has decided to prioritise the completion of ongoing projects in the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26 development budget.
The decision taken in a significant consultative meeting, which was held under the chairmanship of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, regarding the preparation of the next annual development program, in which the proposed development projects of the Mardan division were considered.
The meeting was attended by members of the National and Provincial Assembly from the Mardan division, officers of the relevant departments and other senior officials.
During the meeting, the development plans for the next financial year were discussed, and a detailed review of the progress made on the ongoing development schemes in the Mardan division was also conducted.
Addressing the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the new annual development program of the provincial government will be a visionary program, which will provide a strong foundation and a clear roadmap for the next four years.
He clarified that the development program is being prepared keeping in mind the suggestions of the elected public representatives and the needs of the people.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that most of the development budget for the next financial year will be spent on the completion of ongoing projects, and the projects on which 80 per cent or more of the work has been completed will be completed next year. According to him, with this initiative, about 50 per cent of the ongoing projects will be completed next year.
The Chief Minister emphasised that it is his top priority and responsibility to provide equal development to all areas of the province. He said that “As Chief Minister, every constituency of the province is my constituency.” He assured that all areas will be given an equal share in development projects, keeping in mind their population, backwardness and needs, and no injustice will be done to anyone.
