The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has made a significant decision as part of its education emergency, announcing that all government school students will be provided with furniture in the upcoming financial year.
Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur emphasised that no child should have to sit on the floor in government schools. He instructed during a meeting focused on the new annual development program that furniture provision must be ensured for every student in all government schools in the next budget.
The Chief Minister stated that a conducive environment for education is essential and that there will be no compromise in providing basic facilities in government schools. He also assured that all necessary funds for the furniture will be allocated.
Furthermore, Chief Minister Gandapur highlighted that ensuring access to furniture, washrooms, and drinking water for children in government schools is a top priority. He insisted that there would be no compromises on these essential facilities.
To enhance the quality of teaching in government schools, the Chief Minister proposed starting a special program that would include modern training for teachers. He suggested that such training should be made mandatory for newly recruited educators.

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur announced “Roshan Mustaqbal Card and Sahara Card” for the support of orphans and widow, in line with the vision of the founding Chairman of PTI through which Rs 5000 per month would be paid to every orphan person aged between 05 to 16.
In this regard, a ceremony was held at the Chief Minister House Peshawar on Monday in which Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Khan Gandapur attended as the chief guest. In addition to Provincial Minister for Social Welfare Syed Qasim Ali Shah, members of the provincial assembly, government officials and others also attended the ceremony. On this occasion, the Chief Minister distributed Roshan Mustaqbal Cards among orphans and Sahara Cards among widows.
According to the details, Rs. 5,000 will be given monthly to orphans between the ages of 5 and 16 through Roshan Mustaqbal Card. Initially, nine thousand orphans will benefit from Roshan Mustaqbal Card, while this year Rs. 180 million has been allocated for the implementation of this program. Similarly, under the “Sahara Card”, widows of 45 years and above will also be given Rs. 5000 per month. This year Rs. 300 million has been allocated for the implementation of this program, while currently 15 thousand widows will benefit from the Sahara Card.
Through these cards, orphans and widows will receive regular financial assistance until the 5th of every month. Payment of Rs. 5000 per month to the beneficiaries through these cards will start from this month. In view of the arrival of Eid-ul-Adha, the assistance amount for May and June, i.e. Rs. 10,000 each, will be given together. The selection of beneficiaries for the provision of Roshan Mustaqbal Card and Sahara Card has been done in a clear and transparent manner.
The scope of these programs will be expanded to provide assistance to more beneficiaries. Moreover, the registration of more beneficiaries will also be started in the month of July this year. The Chief Minister, while addressing the ceremony, said that the current provincial government is implementing the vision of the founding chairman of the welfare state, merit, justice and equality are the basic features of the state of Madinah.
He paid tribute to the team of the Social Welfare Department for the launch of the Sahara Card and Roshan Mustaqbal Card programs. The patronage of the weaker sections of the society is the first responsibility of any state, we are committed to establishing the model of the state of Madinah in the province. We will show the people the face of the state that a state should have. He added that data on weaker and needy people is being collected in the province, this is the beginning.
In the future, the scope of programs to support the weak and needy classes will be further expanded. He said in his speech that electric wheelchairs are being provided to disabled people and disabled students who earn their livelihood. In addition, the scope of the health cards has been expanded to include expensive treatments like implants and transplants, and now bone marrow, kidney and liver transplants are being made completely free in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Similarly, the dowry fund has been increased from Rs 20,000 to Rs 200,000, and four thousand deserving girls were married this year from dowry funds. “We will spend the public’s money on the public, we will fulfill this responsibility by becoming a trustee, we have generated an additional income of Rs 250 billion without imposing any new taxes, although this money was present in the system, which was disappearing in the previous system” he said. “To become a self-reliant and independent nation, we have to increase our resources, a debtor nation can neither be independent nor self-reliant, we have to become a nation whose dream our ancestors had seen and whose ancestors had made sacrifices” Gandapur remarked.
