KP govt to provide residential units to employees

 

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has announced its decision to provide residential units to government employees, with online registration starting from February 25. By the provincial government’s directives, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Housing Foundation and the Housing Department have launched an online registration campaign for all provincial government employees.

Both departments have recommended that all government institutions display official notices on their respective office boards to ensure that employees are informed promptly and can submit their applications online through the “Dastak Application.”

Application forms can be found in the app, which is available for download on the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Additional details and the online application link can also be accessed on the official websites of the Housing Department and KPITB.

In a significant development, the federal government announced on Thursday a 45% increase in house rent allowance for all employees working in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar, and Quetta, with the largest adjustments occurring in the capital.

News of the new rental ceilings was shared through a notification from the Ministry of Housing and Works. The updated ceilings will apply to federal ministries, divisions, attached departments, and subordinate offices in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Karachi, Lahore, Quetta, and Peshawar.

Under the revised rates, the monthly rental ceiling for grade 22 employees in Islamabad is now set at Rs142,743, an increase from Rs98,444. In other cities, the ceiling is Rs125,989, compared to Rs89,230.

For grade 21, the ceiling in Islamabad has increased from Rs82,261 to Rs119,278, while in other cities, it has risen from Rs71,107 to Rs98,378. For grade 20, the amount for Islamabad has gone up from Rs68,700 to Rs99,615, while in other cities, it has increased from Rs59,079 to Rs82,696.

Grade 19 officers in Islamabad will see their ceilings rise from Rs79,320 to Rs54,704, while in other cities, they will increase from Rs65,542 to Rs46,816. Rental ceilings for grades 17 and 18 are now set at Rs41,147 to Rs49,808 for cities outside Islamabad, and from Rs35,898 to Rs59,669 for Islamabad.

Employees in grades 14-16 will receive a current salary of Rs45,073 in Islamabad and Rs37,665 in other cities, up from Rs31,085 and Rs27,134, respectively. For grades 11-13, the newly revised ceilings are set at Rs35,878 in Islamabad and Rs30,815 in other cities, compared to Rs24,744 and Rs21,462.
