PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has taken initiative to ensure accountability, transparency and quality of work in the use of development funds. In this regard, the KP government to create a regulatory framework for effective supervision of maintenance and repair (M&R) works of development projects and wise use of funds.
The Chief Minister’s Secretariat sent a letter to the Chief Secretary in this regard. Instructions to set up an effective regulatory framework for the use of funds allocated for repair and maintenance of roads, government buildings, canals, irrigation schemes and transformers.
The use of M&R funds without a regulatory framework is causing unnecessary use of government resources, delay in work and substandard work.
In order to deal with these problems, a comprehensive and all-round regulatory framework should be developed for the use of M&R funds.
District Supervisory Committees should be formed at the level of all districts under the proposed regulatory framework.
