KP health adviser directs speedy work on kidney transplant center at KTH

PESHAWAR: Advisor to the K-P Chief Minister on Health, Ehtesham Ali, has directed expedited work on a kidney transplant centre at Khyber Teaching Hospital (KTH), with Rs500 million already approved.

The centre, initially focusing on kidney transplants, will later expand to liver and bone marrow procedures.

Ali emphasized the facility will offer free transplants under the Sehat Card program, alleviating financial burdens for patients.

During a surprise visit to KTH, Ali inspected departments, including the Sehat Card Pharmacy and Total Lab Automation, urging the expansion of diagnostic services.

He also instructed Sehat Card authorities to activate cardiac treatment facilities promptly.
