Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission Shuts Down 64 Medical Centers for Violations

PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Healthcare Commission has shared its report for the last 15 days. During this time, the commission inspected 455 medical centers across the province. Out of these, 64 centers were shut down for breaking rules, and 5 centers were given warning notices.

According to Azam Rehman, the commission’s spokesperson, 127 new medical centers were registered. Additionally, 6 hospitals, 2 laboratories, and 2 general/specialist medical centers were inspected. Of these, 2 private hospitals received full licenses. The commission also trained 50 medical staff from labs, collection centers, and dental clinics to improve the quality of healthcare services.

The spokesperson added that the commission received 26 new complaints from people about different medical centers. Out of these, 22 complaints were resolved following the commission’s rules.

For the first time, a seminar was held in Takht Bhai to educate doctors and physicians about the Healthcare Commission. Mohsin Ali Turk, the Director of Legal Affairs, explained that the commission’s main goal is to ensure people in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa receive quality healthcare. He also urged the public to report any medical centers that are not following the rules set by the Healthcare Commission.
