KP IGP commends Mingora Police’s flood heroism, vows to rebuild station

SWAT: The Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, visited the flood-damaged Mingora police station in Swat on Tuesday to inspect the damage and commend his officers.

During his visit, the IGP praised the police force for their “unparalleled spirit” and “selfless efforts” in responding to the recent floods. He highlighted how personnel worked alongside Rescue 1122 and the district administration to rescue several families and safely secure arms and ammunition from the flooded station.

To reward their service, IGP Hameed gave cash prizes to the Station House Officer (SHO) and the Muharrar (record-keeper) of the Mingora police station.

He assured that the damaged police infrastructure would be restored soon and announced that an inspection of the flood-affected Buner district would also be conducted. The IGP also mentioned ongoing welfare initiatives for police personnel and their families, including improved education and health facilities.
