KP implements strict security measures for schools after Balochistan incident

PAF downed 6 Indian jets, not five, says PM Shehbaz

PESHAWAR:In response to the recent terrorist attack on a school bus in Balochistan’s Khuzdar district, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has issued a comprehensive security advisory for all educational institutions across the province.

Special Secretary of the KP Education Department, Qaiser Alam, confirmed that District Education Officers (DEOs) and school heads have been instructed to conduct immediate security surveys and prepare detailed safety plans in coordination with local authorities.

Under the new directives, schools must establish strict checking systems at entry and exit points, deploy trained security personnel, and install CCTV cameras for surveillance. Additionally, institutions are required to develop emergency alert systems and evacuation plans to handle potential threats.

The advisory also mandates security awareness sessions for students to educate them on safety protocols. Alam emphasized that the department is committed to utilizing all available resources to protect students and staff, with police and district administrations actively involved in the implementation.

The measures come after a suicide bombing in Khuzdar killed at least five people, including three children, sparking nationwide concerns over school safety . Authorities aim to prevent similar incidents in KP, which has previously faced attacks on educational institutions.
