KP Mines, Mineral Act bill approval only after Imran green signal: Barrister Gohar

CM Gandapur, other PTI leaders agree to end internal differences

ISLAMABAD: Barrister Gohar Ali Khan, chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), stated that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Mines and Minerals Bill will only be approved after receiving confirmation from Imran Khan.

In an exclusive conversation with Pakhtun Digital outside the National Assembly, Gohar emphasized that the approval of the KP Mines and Minerals Act is not dependent on the release of PTI founder Imran Khan.

He mentioned that he had inquired with Rauf Hassan about whether they had received any invitation from the US Embassy. He also checked with the Senate and the National Assembly, but no invitation had been sent to either. Additionally, he stated that he has not received any email regarding this matter.

Gohar expressed his intention to contact the US Embassy again, as there may have been a misunderstanding. He reiterated that if they do receive an invitation from the US Embassy, they will certainly attend, recalling that he personally attended a meeting on July 4.

Furthermore, he highlighted that the province has developed its own legislation regarding mines and minerals. The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken the political committee and assembly members into confidence, and the entire political committee has reviewed the bill clause by clause. The bill will only be submitted for final approval once Khan Sahib gives his consent. It is important to note that the Minerals and Mines Bill is not conditional upon Khan Sahib’s release.
