KP MPA Fazal Elahi storms Grid Station, forces feeders on

PESCO Peshawar rejects new load schedule amid security fears

PESHAWAR: Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Fazal Elahi, forcibly entered the Rehman Baba Grid Station in Peshawar and turned on all power feeders without authorization, according to a spokesperson for PESCO (Peshawar Electric Supply Company).

The spokesperson stated that Fazal Elahi’s actions led to system overload, resulting in a suspension of electricity supply to multiple areas. The feeders that were forcibly activated are categorized as high-loss feeders, which are typically subject to load management due to widespread electricity theft and non-payment of dues in the connected areas.

PESCO confirmed that legal action is being initiated against Fazal Elahi, citing the unauthorized operation of critical infrastructure and disruption of power distribution protocols.

The incident has drawn criticism for undermining utility management procedures and potentially endangering grid stability. Fazal Ilahi is well known for his aggressive attitude in his area as earlier to this he went grid station and opened feeders forcefully to avoid prolong power outage.
