KP opposition leader slams CM Gandapur for prioritising political activities over province’s security

Senate Deal Aimed to Stop Horse-Trading, Says Opposition Leader

The opposition leader in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) assembly, Dr Ibadullah Khan, has slammed the KP Chief Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, for prioritising political activities over the province’s security situation.

The opposition leader in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly, Dr. Ibadullah, has expressed serious reservations over the departure of Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur to Lahore and the ongoing political activities there, saying that when the province is facing unrest, terrorism and public problems, the Chief Minister going to Lahore to make a political show is a serious joke on public sentiments.
According to a private TV channel (Aaj News), Dr Ibadullah alleged that millions of rupees were spent from the government treasury for the Chief Minister’s visit to Lahore, which is a misuse of public money.

He said that “using public resources for a political announcement is not only immoral but also unconstitutional.”
He raised the question under which law the convoy consisting of thousands of vehicles was sent, and does the current government believe only in a political show instead of public welfare?
The opposition leader further emphasised that the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are deprived of protection of life and property, terror events are occurring daily in the province, and people are forced to live in the shadow of insecurity. Still, it is unfortunate that the Chief Minister is prioritising political engagements.
Dr Ibadullah called on the government to redefine its priorities and take immediate and effective steps to lift the people out of the state of unrest, inflation, and uncertainty.
