KP Police acquire advanced anti-drone technology to combat modern threats

NRTC Supplies Advanced Anti-Drone Systems to KP Police

PESHAWAR: The National Radio and Telecommunication Corporation (NRTC) demonstrated state-of-the-art anti-drone guns at the Central Police Office, showcasing their ability to neutralize hostile drones instantly. Inspector General of Police (IGP) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Zulfiqar Hameed, attended the event, where experts detailed the guns’ technical features, operational use, and effectiveness.

Under a recent agreement, NRTC will supply KP Police with anti-drone guns capable of disabling terrorist-operated drones within an 8-kilometer range. A police review committee will now evaluate the equipment’s efficiency before deployment.

IGP Hameed emphasized that modernizing the police force is critical given evolving security challenges. “These anti-drone guns will enhance security during high-risk events like Muharram and strengthen our counter-terrorism capabilities,” he said. The acquisition aligns with KP Police’s ongoing digitalization and smart security upgrades.
