PESHAWAR: On the orders of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed, police across flood-hit Malakand and Hazara divisions are fully engaged in emergency response and public service.
All police leave in these divisions has been cancelled. Officers and personnel are on high alert at their stations, ready for any emergency. An emergency cell has been activated by Mansehra Police.
Mansehra: Police rescued 9 trapped tourists, an injured person from a floating Alto car, and a girl buried under a collapsed house.
Shangla: Police worked with Rescue 1122 to help victims, rescued children stranded by floods/landslides, and helped partially reopen a lightning-damaged road.
Buner:Led by DPO Saud Khan, police conducted day-long relief work, distributed food/drinks, and successfully evacuated people from danger zones.
Bajaur: Police played a frontline role after lightning strikes in Jabrail Salarzai. Working with Rescue 1122, they recovered 21 bodies and rescued 5 injured from debris. DPO Waqas Rafique personally inspected flood damage to Khar Bridge.
Dir:Police are actively managing floods, keeping people away from dangerous waterways, conducting relief ops with Rescue 1122/district admin, and traffic police are clearing landslide-blocked roads.
IGP Zulfiqar Hameed praised the force, stating KP Police are a “lead wall against terrorists” and continue serving the public with the same dedication during natural disasters. He confirmed all personnel are on alert and have shown commendable performance in rescue operations. Protecting lives and property, whether from terrorism or disasters, remains the force’s top priority.
