PESHAWAR: A ceremony was held at the Central Police Office in Peshawar to award promotion badges to several Deputy Inspector Generals (DIGs) of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police who were elevated to Grade 20.
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Zulfiqar Hameed presided over the event and pinned the new ranks on the officers, including Chief Capital City Police Peshawar Qasim Ali Khan, RPO Bannu Muhammad Sajjad Khan, DIG Security Dr. Mian Saeed Ahmed, RPO Mardan Najeebullah Bagvi, DIG Legal Irfanullah Khan, DIG Investigation Dr. Muhammad Quraish Khan, and DIG Special Branch Imran Shahid. The promoted officers attended with their families, while senior police officials, including Additional IGPs and DIGs from various branches, were also present.
IGP Hameed praised the officers for their professionalism and dedication, stating that their promotions marked a significant milestone in their careers and brought pride to the KP Police. He emphasized that promotions come with greater responsibilities and urged the officers to uphold justice, serve the public with honesty, and strengthen institutional integrity.
Acknowledging the sacrifices made by the officers and their families, the IGP highlighted how parental inspiration often shapes successful careers. He expressed confidence in the promoted officers’ abilities to tackle future challenges and meet public expectations.
The promotions were recently approved by a federal board.
