PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Police will use thermal drones to monitor mourning processions during Muharram for better security, Inspector General (IG) Zulfiqar Hameed announced.
In an interview with Geo News, IG KP said the police have acquired modern weapons, including thermal drones, to track processions day and night. This will help prevent any possible threats.
He also said short machine guns will be delivered this week, and broken Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) vehicles have been repaired. More APCs will soon be sent to sensitive districts for Muharram security.
The IG stated that KP Police is using latest technology to ensure peace during Muharram.
These steps come as Pakistan tightens security nationwide due to heightened risks during Muharram.
