KP to allocate separate budget for each university: Meena Khan Afridi

PESHAWAR: The Provincial Minister for Higher Education in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Meena Khan Afridi revealed plans to allocate separate budgets for each university in the upcoming provincial budget.

During his recent interview with Kashif Uddin Syed on the Pakhtun Digital podcast, Meena Khan Afridi highlighted that the provincial government has already allocated more than 4.5 billion rupees to universities, an additional 2 billion rupees will be provided before June.

This move is aimed at addressing the financial challenges faced by universities across the province.

He underscored that although funds are necessary, this is not a permanent solution and a comprehensive policy aimed to financially stabilise universities has been developed.

Furthermore, he expressed optimism that the new budget allocations would significantly improve the financial situation of universities.

In the podcast, he also discussed the growing presence of international students, sharing that the admission process for 400 Chinese students at Gomal University is complete, and they will begin their MBA studies once the necessary clearance from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is obtained.
