PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) government has announced to observe Youm-e-Tashakur tomorrow, on Friday, May 16, in honour of the Pakistani Armed Forces.
The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Administrative Affairs Department has issued a letter to all administrative secretaries, deputy commissioners of all districts and other concerned authorities in this regard.
Tributes will be paid to the Pakistani Armed Forces for their bravery on the occasion of Youm-e-Tashakur. Various events will be organised at the official level, including flag hoisting ceremonies in all government offices and schools.
The letter also acknowledges the Pakistani people for their unity and patriotism in defeating the enemy, highlighting that tributes are extended not only to the army but to the citizens as well.
Along with the letter, a list of events has been sent to all administrative secretaries. These events include the formal hoisting of the flag in government buildings and institutions at sunrise, Quran recitation after Fajr prayers in major mosques across the province, and prayers for the country’s security and the repose of the souls of martyrs.

Moreover, national unity will be emphasised in Friday sermons through coordination with the Auqaf Department. Arrangements will be made to pay tribute in all educational institutions, schools, and colleges in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Flag hoisting ceremonies will be held, accompanied by the singing of the national anthem, and special essay competitions focusing on national unity will be organised.
Flowers will be placed on the monuments and graves of martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the country, and tributes will also be arranged at sites associated with Nishan-e-Haider recipients and other prominent national figures.
All offices and institutions will observe a minute of silence at 10 a.m. to honour those who served the nation.
