In light of the recent heavy rainfall and potential flooding in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), the Tourism Department has issued a special advisory for tourists.

The advisory highlights that, due to heavy rains affecting most districts of the province, there is a risk of flooding in rivers and streams, as well as landslides. Tourists are advised to exercise extreme caution during this time.

The Tourism Department has warned tourists to avoid staying near rivers, streams, and mountain springs, recommending a safe distance of at least 20 feet from these areas. Swimming should be completely avoided this season to prevent any accidents. Additionally, tourists should not attempt to drive through or cross floodplains, as this can be extremely dangerous.

The advisory also emphasises the importance of not dumping garbage in natural areas to protect the ecosystem. Before travelling to the northern regions, it is crucial to check road and route conditions.

Tourists are encouraged to carry essential supplies, including water, non-perishable food, flashlights, and first aid kits.
