KP weather Alert: Rain forecast for Northern districts, heatwave in South

PESHAWAR: The Meteorological Department has forecast unsettled weather conditions across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa in the coming days, with chances of rainfall in several districts and intense heat expected to grip the southern parts of the province.

Rain accompanied by thunderstorms and strong winds is likely in multiple districts including Mardan, Nowshera, Charsadda, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Malakand, Shangla, Abbottabad, Mansehra, Kohistan, Battagram, Haripur, Torghar, Swabi, Kohat, Hangu, Karak, Bannu, Lakki Marwat, Dera Ismail Khan, Tank, Khyber, and Kurram.

Swat, Mingora, and Abbottabad witnessed heavy rainfall on Tuesday, while various parts of Azad Kashmir also experienced intermittent showers.

In contrast, the southern districts of the province are expected to see an unusual spike in temperature, with extreme heat and high humidity levels likely to persist in the coming days.

Authorities have issued advisories for citizens, travelers, and farmers to exercise caution. Residents are advised to avoid unnecessary travel, protect solar panels and electrical equipment installed in open areas, and remain indoors during extreme weather conditions.
