PESHAWAR: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) Governor Faisal Karim Kundi has expressed serious concerns over the deteriorating condition of the health sector in the province, stating that more than 40 million people still lack access to basic medical facilities.

Speaking at a health policy conference held at the Governor House, Governor Kundi criticized the provincial government’s health policies, highlighting major issues such as poor treatment conditions in hospitals and a severe shortage of medicines.

He emphasized the need for improving medical infrastructure to match the growing population. “If the government, medical experts, and the public work together, we can establish a modern and effective healthcare system,” he said.

Governor Kundi assured medical experts of his full support for reforms, stating that constructive criticism should be welcomed for positive change. He also pointed out that while the world is advancing in healthcare innovations, people in KP are still protesting against inadequate medical services.

The conference aimed to set a new direction for KP’s health system, with hopes of bringing much-needed improvements.
