PESHAWAR: Governor Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Faisal Karim Kundi met with a delegation from Jamiat-e-Ulema-e-Pakistan on Wednesday to discuss security challenges and political cooperation in KP and Balochistan.
Speaking to the media, Governor Kundi warned that militant groups like the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Daesh continue to threaten peace in the region. He praised the sacrifices of Pakistan’s security forces but admitted that terrorism remains a major challenge.
“The security forces have made tremendous sacrifices, but the threats are not fully eliminated,” Kundi said. He stressed the need for political unity and public cooperation to combat terrorism, calling it a bigger issue than politics.

The governor also linked regional instability to the conflict in Afghanistan, stating that KP’s proximity to the war-torn country has increased its vulnerability. He claimed that weapons left behind by US forces in Afghanistan are now being used by terrorists in Pakistan.
Kundi emphasized the importance of political will to achieve lasting peace and urged all parties to work together. He also hinted at a new campaign by the Pakistan Peoples’ Party (PPP) to protect the province, promising more details soon.
