Kurram tribal leaders signed one year peace agreement

The tribes of Lower Kurram and Sadda have officially signed a one-year “Aman Tegha” (ceasefire) to foster lasting peace in the region.

This announcement was made during an important tribal jirga held at FC Fort Sadda, which was attended by elders from the Turi and Bangash tribes, as well as representatives from the district administration and security forces.

According to Deputy Commissioner Kurram Ashfaq Khan, the tribal elders at the jirga unanimously agreed to fully implement the Murree Agreement and the renewal of Murree Kohat during the Aman Tegha. The elders hailed this decision as a significant milestone for regional stability.

Participants of the jirga expressed their appreciation for the role of the security forces, police, and district administration, noting that the establishment of peace in the Kurram Valley is a result of public cooperation and the sacrifices made by security personnel.

The Deputy Commissioner stated that additional measures will be taken to ensure peace, to unite all parties and make the area completely secure.

A new peace deal has been signed between the Upper Kurram and Central Kurram tribes, marking the third such agreement in the region. Tribal elders, local leaders, and administration officials gathered in Khumsa to finalize the agreement, with representatives from Kadman, Dongila, Khamd, and Chamkani also participating.

Local elders emphasized that peace is essential for the area, which has suffered years of conflict and loss of life. They expressed hope that this agreement would bring stability and open doors for development. The Kurram Commissioner stated that more peace efforts will follow, and the administration will ensure the agreement is fully implemented .
