Kylian Mbappe hospitalized with stomach flu, doubtful for Club World Cup

Kylian Mbappe training with Real Madrid before stomach flu hospitalization

MIAMI: Real Madrid star Kylian Mbappe has been hospitalized due to a severe case of gastroenteritis, the club confirmed on Thursday. The French forward missed Madrid’s 1-1 draw against Al Hilal in the FIFA Club World Cup after developing a fever.

Manager Xabi Alonso hopes Mbappe recovers in time for Sunday’s match against Pachuca, but his hospitalization raises concerns about his participation in the tournament.

Real Madrid stated that Mbappe is undergoing tests and receiving treatment for the stomach flu, which causes vomiting and diarrhea. The 25-year-old last played for France in the UEFA Nations League third-place playoff against Germany.
