Lahore Qalandars defeat Quetta Gladiators to clinch PSL X title

LAHORE: Lahore Qalandars clinched their third Pakistan Super League (PSL) title with a six-wicket victory over Quetta Gladiators in the Season X final at Gaddafi Stadium on Sunday.

Chasing a competitive target of 202, Lahore made a strong start as openers Mohammad Naeem and Fakhar Zaman laid a solid foundation with a 39-run stand. The partnership was cut short when Fakhar was dismissed by Abrar Ahmed for 11 off 10 balls, which included two boundaries.

Abdullah Shafique then joined Naeem, and the duo accelerated the scoring with an important second-wicket partnership. Naeem, in excellent touch, was approaching his half-century when he was removed by Faheem Ashraf. He played a blistering knock of 47 off just 27 deliveries, smashing one four and six sixes.

His departure brought an end to a key 46-run stand, leaving Lahore at 85-2 in 8.4 overs.
