AKKI MARWAT: In a swift and decisive response, security forces successfully thwarted a terrorist attack on the Abbasah Checkpost in Lakki Marwat’s Dadiwala police jurisdiction. During the encounter, one militant was killed, while another managed to escape.
According to police officials, the incident unfolded when a routine patrol of the Abbasa police mobile van was ambushed by terrorists armed with advanced weaponry near Abbasa and Shahab Khel. The police retaliated promptly, engaging the attackers in a fierce exchange of fire. One militant was neutralized in the operation, while the others fled the scene, abandoning their deceased accomplice.
One police officer sustained minor injuries during the confrontation and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition and out of danger.

In the aftermath of the attack, District Police Officer (DPO) Lakki Marwat, Muhammad Jawad Ishaq, deployed a large police contingent to cordon off the area and initiate a search operation to apprehend the fleeing terrorists.
Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police, Zulfiqar Hameed, commended the bravery and quick response of the police force. He announced commendation certificates and cash rewards for the officers involved, reaffirming that such cowardly acts of terrorism would not deter the morale of the KP police.
This incident follows a series of recent attacks in the region, including a deadly blast at Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak, Nowshera, which claimed the life of JUI-S leader Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq and four others. Additionally, a separate explosion in Samma Mamozai Bazaar, Orakzai, resulted in one fatality and left four others injured.
The security forces remain on high alert as operations continue to ensure the safety and stability of the region.
