MANSEHRA: Lights and ventilation system installed at the tunnels of Hazara Motorway, known for its beauty and top travel facilities, have stopped working.
Just a few years after its construction, the lights and ventilation systems in all tunnels from Mansehra to Battagram have stopped working. Light and ventilation systems were installed at all tunnels to bring fresh air into the tunnels.
This failure is creating serious issues for travellers.
Passengers say the tunnels are now dark, making travel dangerous. Smoke from vehicles is building up due to the non-functional ventilation system. This is making it hard to breathe.
They said it could cause road accidents as one of the key factors in preventing accidents in tunnels is a proper lighting system.
Citizens urge authorities to fix the lights and ventilation immediately to prevent accidents.

The Hazara Motorway is one of Pakistan’s most scenic routes. However, poor maintenance is creating difficulties for travelers. The public demands urgent repairs to keep the motorway safe and in its original condition.
