After the approval of the federal cabinet, the government has appointed Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Saeed as the new head of the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA).
He has assumed charge of his post after the formal notification of his appointment was issued.
Lieutenant General (retd) Muhammad Saeed also held an important meeting with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in which Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar also participated.
Various suggestions for improving water resources, development projects and the performance of WAPDA were discussed in the meeting.
The Prime Minister congratulated Muhammad Saeed on assuming the new responsibility and expressed his best wishes for him.
He said that he was hopeful that Muhammad Saeed would make WAPDA a stronger and more functional institution by utilising his expertise and experience.
