HARIPUR: Haripur police on Wednesday claimed to have arrested a man for harassing and blackmailing a girl on Social Media.
According to the Haripur district police officer, Farhan Khan, a woman had lodged her complaint at the police station, Hattar in Haripur the other day, followed by his police team came into action and arrested the alleged suspect and sent him behind lockup.
DPO Farhan said the suspect was harassing and blackmailing the complainant on social media, and the police lodged an FIR against him under section 506 of the Pakistan Penal Code PPC at police station Hattar.
He said the suspect, Ghulam Haidar, a resident of village Choya, Hattar had been sent behind the lockups and began further interrogation into the case.
