Mansehra police rescue abducted child, kidnappers eliminated

The Mansehra police on Tuesday rescued an abducted two years old child and eliminated kidnappers in a successful operation conducted in the Damgla area of Balakot tehsil in Mansehra.

On June 5, 2025, Misma A., the wife of Muhammad Waqas and a resident of Kohistan Colony, reported to the Balakot police station in Mansehra that her two-and-a-half-year-old son, Muhammad Saad, was missing. Misma stated that her maternal aunt had taken the child under the pretext of marriage. Subsequently, the child’s father, who resides in Dubai, received ransom calls from unknown individuals.

In response, a special team was formed to apprehend the suspects and rescue the child. The investigation involved conducting raids, tracking mobile locations, and collaborating with other law enforcement agencies to locate the accused.

On June 10, 2025, the kidnappers contacted the victim’s family and instructed them to come to Damgla to pay the ransom. When the police surrounded the area, the suspects opened fire. In the ensuing exchange of fire, both kidnappers—Armaan Jan and Faheem Khan, residents of Badh Bir, Peshawar, and Afghan nationals—were killed.

The kidnapped child, Muhammad Saad, along with the woman (the aunt), was safely recovered. Additionally, two .30 calibre pistols and 30 cartridges were recovered from the suspects. The police are continuing their investigation into the incident.
