Mardan: Excise and Narcotics Control Department Seizes 120 kg of Drugs in Major Anti-Smuggling Operation

Mardan : In a significant crackdown on drug trafficking, the Excise and Narcotics Control Department successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle a large quantity of narcotics, recovering a total of 120 kilograms of drugs. The operation was carried out as part of the department’s ongoing efforts to combat drug dealers, smugglers, and their facilitators.

According to a spokesperson for the Excise Department, the seizure took place during a routine search on Charsadda Road in Mardan. Officials recovered 110 kilograms of hashish and 10 kilograms of opium from a vehicle, marking a major blow to the illegal drug trade in the region.

Two individuals were arrested on the spot in connection with the smuggling attempt. The suspects have been identified as Muhammad Yousuf, son of Rehman Wali, a resident of Quarter Bara Gate, Peshawar, and Rehman, son of Mukarram, a resident of Bara. Both were taken into custody by the Excise Department.

A case has been registered against the accused at the Excise Police Station in Mardan, and legal proceedings are underway. The department has also initiated further investigations to uncover potential links to larger drug networks and facilitators involved in the illegal trade.

This operation underscores the Excise and Narcotics Control Department’s commitment to eradicating drug-related crimes and ensuring the safety and well-being of the community. Authorities have vowed to continue such operations to dismantle drug smuggling networks across the region.
