Marwat: PTI should apologize for Its past political mistakes

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) dissident Member of the National Assembly, Sher Afzal Marwat, has urged political parties to acknowledge and apologize for past mistakes, prioritizing national interest over political point-scoring.

Speaking on Hum News, Marwat stated that the Pakistani people have suffered the consequences of these errors. He specifically highlighted the arrests of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leaders, Nawaz Sharif and Maryam Nawaz, during the PTI government’s tenure.

“These arrests were not just political mistakes,” Marwat asserted, “they were serious moral and legal blunders. Such actions violated justice and damaged democratic values.”

Marwat admitted the PML-N also made significant mistakes in the past. However, he emphasized that “one mistake should not be answered with another.” He declared that if given full authority by his own party, the PTI, he would formally apologize to the nation for these past governmental and political errors, including the arrests of the PML-N leadership.

The lawmaker concluded that it is now crucial for all political parties to re-evaluate their past actions. He called for an end to political revenge and a renewed focus on the national interest.
