Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken strict notice of the placement of her picture on the mosque and has sought an explanation from the Deputy Commissioner Mandi Bahauddin.
The Deputy Commissioner has been reprimanded for placing the picture of the Chief Minister of Punjab in the mosque. Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has directed the district administration and government institutions to follow the SOPs regarding her picture.
The picture of a mosque was pasted on some development project for a mosque in Mandi Bahauddin, however placement of a woman’s picture on mosques is against Islamic teaching and the tradition of the society.
It may be mentioned that on August 14, an advertisement was published in which PM Shehbaz Sharif published his pictures without the picture of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. The move was largely criticised by the public on social media.
The incumbent government of PML-N in the Federal and Provincial governments is spending huge amounts on advertisements for public gain and spending huge amounts through the Information department to make advertisements
