Maulana Abdul Haq Thani elected new Chief of JUI- S

JUI-S Questions Delays in Maulana Hamidul Haq Murder Investigation

NOWSHERA: Maulana Abdul Haq Thani has been unanimously elected as the new leader of Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (S) by the party’s central executive council. The position had been vacant since the death of his father, Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani.

Born on October 16, 1994, in Akora Khattak, Maulana Abdul Haq Thani is the eldest son of Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq Haqqani, grandson of Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, and great-grandson of Maulana Abdul Haq. He completed his religious education and earned a Shahadat-e-Almiya degree with distinction from Wifaq-ul-Madaris Al-Arabia. He also pursued modern academics, excelling in his matriculation and FSc under the Federal Board and later earning an MBA in Finance with a CGPA of 3.54.

For the past three years, he has taught religious subjects, including Quranic exegesis, jurisprudence, and literature, at Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqania in Akora Khattak. He has also been actively involved in his family’s political and religious activities, representing the party at national and international conferences.

The JUI-S central executive council met at Dar-ul-Uloom Haqqania, where representatives from all four provinces approved his appointment as the party’s new leader. Maulana Abdul Haq Thani is known for his proficiency in multiple languages and his dedication to both religious and modern education.
