A militant commander was killed in an operation conducted by the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) in the Spina Tangai Chishma area of Bannu district here on Thursday.
According to sources, a terrorist commander, Gul Baz, son of Aziz Gul, resident of Matki Bezan Khel, was killed in an exchange of fire between Bannu CTD police and terrorists.
According to the police, a face-off took place between terrorists and CTD police near Spina Tangi Chashmi within the limits of Domail police station last night, in which 03 CTD police personnel were martyred and 02 personnel were injured.
There were also reports of terrorists being killed and injured in police firing, but they had taken the bodies of the terrorists with them in the darkness of the night.
CTD police and Bannu police wanted the terrorist commander for attacking police stations, checkpoints, police target killings, extortion and other terrorist acts.

Bannu is one of the terror-affected districts of KP as located in the border area with Afghanistan.
On Wednesday night, three police personnel of the CTD KP were martyred and several others injured in an attack by militants.
