BANNU: Militants launched a heavy weapons attack on the Fateh Khel police post late last night, leaving one constable seriously injured. Police officials reported that the attackers fled after security forces retaliated strongly.
Regional Police Officer (RPO) Sajjad Khan and District Police Officer (DPO) Saleem Abbas Kalachi rushed to the scene along with CTD officers to oversee the operation. The injured officer was immediately shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.
Authorities have issued a high alert and launched a search operation to track down the fleeing militants.
