Mines & Minerals Bill: JUI-F submits adjournment motion in Senate

ISLAMABAD: Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (F) has rejected the Mines & Minerals Bill and submitted an adjournment motion in the upper house of the Parliament to discuss the bill.

According to a JUI spokesperson, some members have violated the party policy by supporting the Balochistan Mines and Minerals Bill.

He said that JUI-F Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman has taken strict notice of the violating party position on mines and Minerals Bill.

Aslam Ghauri said that Maulana Fazlur Rehman has sought immediate clarification from the concerned members of the provincial assembly.

Moreover, the JUI-F Chief has issued instructions to investigate and submit a report as soon as possible.

JUI has made it clear that supporting any legislation contrary to the party’s position is unacceptable, and any such attempt will be stopped.

The party leadership maintains that the Mines and Minerals Bill is against provincial autonomy and public interest.

The opposition parties in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and a group within the ruling Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) have also raised concerns over the proposed KP Mines and Minerals Act 2025.
