Mohammad Nawaz takes stunning hat-trick against Afghanistan

SHARJAH: Pakistan’s left-arm spinner Mohammad Nawaz claimed a hat-trick and a five-wicket haul to dismantle Afghanistan and guide Pakistan to a commanding 75-run victory in the tri-nation T20 series final, in Sharjah.

Muhammad delivered a sensational performance in the tri-nation T20 series final, finishing with incredible figures of 4 overs, 1 maiden, 19 runs, and 5 wickets, including a memorable hat-trick that stunned the Afghan batting order.

Nawaz’s spell proved decisive in restricting Afghanistan to just 66 runs in 15.4 overs while chasing a target of 142.

Muhammad Nawaz hat-trick began in the 10th over when Nawaz trapped Darwish Rasooli lbw with a sharp delivery. The very next ball saw Azmatullah Omarzai fall without scoring, caught off a brilliant spinning delivery. Nawaz completed the hat-trick in his following over, bowling Ibrahim Zadran with the first ball to send the Afghan camp into panic.

He continued his brilliant bowling and got the wicket of  Karim Janat and capped off his spell by dismissing Afghanistan captain Rashid Khan, further sealing Pakistan’s dominance.

Earlier in the match, Nawaz also contributed with the bat, scoring a quick 25 runs, helping Pakistan post a competitive total of 141 runs on a slow Sharjah surface.

While chasing the total of 142, Afghanistan never looked settled, losing wickets at regular intervals under the pressure of Pakistan’s disciplined bowling, led by Nawaz’s heroics.

The victory gave Pakistan the tri-series title in commanding fashion, as they bowled out Afghanistan for 66, registering a thumping 75-run win.
