Mohmand Dam inspected: No immediate flood threat in Swat River, says official

MOHAMAND: Following the recent tourist tragedy in Swat and growing flood concerns in riverine areas, authorities have moved to reassure the public. After inspecting the Mohmand Dam, Mohmand District Emergency Officer Engr. Khaliq Dad addressed the media, confirming that water levels in the Swat River are currently normal and there is no immediate flood threat.

However, Engr. Khaliq stressed the need for public cooperation with Rescue 1122 and local administration. He advised residents in low-lying and riverside areas to stay updated with official alerts and follow safety guidelines.

Meanwhile, precautionary evacuations were carried out earlier today for vulnerable communities near the Swat River in Charsadda and surrounding areas. Authorities remain on high alert and have urged citizens to contact Rescue Helpline 1122 in case of emergencies.
