Multi-district effort controls 90% of Mohmand mountain fire

MOHMAND:A major forest fire erupted near the Mohmand Dam in Lower Mohmand on Thursday , prompting a large-scale response from Rescue 1122 teams. The emergency call was received at 6:23 AM, and firefighting crews from Mohmand, Charsadda, and Peshawar districts rushed to the scene.

Over 35 personnel and 6 firefighting vehicles have battled the blaze for more than 10 hours*, with additional reinforcements called from Peshawar due to the fire’s severity. District Emergency Officers from all three districts are supervising the operation.

Rescue teams worked from multiple angles to prevent the fire from spreading further. By late afternoon, officials reported the flames were 90% controlled, crediting the coordinated efforts of the multi-district teams.

The cause of the fire remains unknown.
