NADRA Cracks Down: 1,000 Families Noticed for Suspected Fraudulent ID Cards

PESHAWAR: The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has issued notices to 1,000 families suspected of possessing fraudulent identity documents, directing them to appear before inquiry committees.

Officials stated that failure to comply will result in the blocking of their family cards and related documents.

This move is part of NADRA’s efforts to curb the illegal issuance and misuse of Pakistani national identity cards.

In addition, authorities have ramped up actions against Afghan traders involved in the illegal production of Pakistani identity cards.

Lists of Afghan refugees who have allegedly obtained Pakistani identity cards through fraudulent means, or have arranged for their families to do so, have been finalized in various markets and residential areas of Peshawar.

NADRA and other relevant authorities have taken these measures to address the illegal activities of Afghan refugees and prevent the misuse of Pakistani identity documents.
