PESHAWAR: Nanbais in Peshawar are now pushing to increase the price of roti amid the flour crisis in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
President of the Peshawar District Nanbais Association Khista Gul and Chairman Raheem Safi claimed that the current situation with rising flour prices, it is not possible to keep the price of a 150-gram loaf of bread at 20 rupees.
They further said that they have met with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Peshawar, who advised them to wait for three days in the hope that the situation will stabilize.

Khista Gul highlighted that if prices do not drop, their legitimate demand is to set the price of a 150-gram loaf at 30 rupees. However, if the government insists on maintaining the 20-rupee price, then the loaf’s weight will have to be reduced to 100 grams, though this will affect the quality of the bread.
