Nasir Iqbal advances to quarterfinals in Asian Squash Championships

Pakistan’s squash champion, Nasir Iqbal, has advanced to the quarterfinals of the 23rd Asian Individual Championships after defeating Lai Cheuk Nam of Hong Kong in Sarawak, Malaysia.

In the match, Nasir Iqbal won with a score of 3-1, with game scores of 11-7, 2-11, 11-5, and 11-8. Meanwhile, fellow Pakistani player Noor Zaman lost to Malaysia’s Joachim Chuah with a score of 2-3, with game scores of 3-11, 3-11, 11-3, 12-10, and 2-11.

Nasir Iqbal will face Henry Leung from Hong Kong, China, in the quarterfinals on Thursday.

Pakistan’s Hamza Khan clinched the Men’s Golden Open Squash Championship title in Kalgoorlie, Australia, with a dominant straight-set win over Hong Kong’s Ka Hei Ho in the final.

Entering the tournament as the second seed, Khan showcased top form throughout the $6,000 PSA Challenger Tour event, dropping just one game across all matches.

He opened his campaign with a comfortable 3-0 win against Hong Kong’s Lap Man Au. In the quarterfinals, he faced a brief challenge from Australia’s Oscar Curtis, conceding one game before sealing a 3-1 victory. Khan then breezed through the semifinal with a 3-0 triumph over Hong Kong’s Ming Hong Tang.

The final, held at the Ray Finlayson Sporting Club, saw Khan once again in control, defeating Ka Hei Ho 3-0 to secure the title. The emphatic win underlines Khan’s growing prominence on the international squash stage.
