ISLAMABAD: The nation is observing the 77th death anniversary of the founder of Pakistan, Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, with reverence and respect, today (Thursday).
Under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the Muslims of the Indian subcontinent succeeded in establishing a separate homeland, Pakistan, gaining freedom from British colonial rule.
Jinnah provided the Muslims of the subcontinent with a distinct identity and a clear national vision. Following the creation of Pakistan in 1947, he became the country’s first Governor-General, a position he held until his death on September 11, 1948.
