ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad administration has announced a significant hike in Electric vehicle (EV) transfer fees, effective from April 14.
The revised fee structure applies to conventional vehicles, electric vehicles (EVs), and motorcycles.
Under the new rates, the transfer fee for vehicles up to 1000cc has been raised from Rs1,200 to Rs2,750. For vehicles between 1000cc and 1800cc, the fee has increased from Rs2,000 to Rs5,500, while vehicles above 1800cc will now incur a fee of Rs11,000—up from Rs3,000.
For the first time, electric vehicles have been included in the fee structure. EVs with a capacity of up to 50kW will be charged Rs2,500. Those between 50kW and 100kW will incur a fee of Rs5,500, and EVs above 100kW will face a transfer fee of Rs10,000.
Motorcycle transfer fees have also been revised. Bikes up to 200cc will now be charged Rs550, up from Rs150. The fee for motorcycles between 200cc and 400cc is set at Rs1,000, while those above 400cc will be charged Rs1,500.
The collected fees will be deposited into an account designated by the Ministry of Finance.
