ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has predicted a new spell of widespread rain, wind, and thunderstorms starting from today, July 28, as monsoon currents continue to affect upper and central parts of the country. These currents are expected to strengthen in the coming days, with a fresh westerly wave likely to enter Pakistan on July 29.

According to the PMD, rain and thunderstorms with isolated heavy downpours are expected across various districts of Azad Jammu and Kashmir from July 27 to 31, with intermittent breaks. Similar weather conditions are forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan.

In Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, several districts are likely to experience rain and thunderstorms between July 28 and 31.

The PMD has urged the public and concerned departments to stay vigilant, especially in flood- and landslide-prone areas.
