No extension in deadline of Afghan refugees’ deportation: FO

ISLAMABAD: Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan has made it clear that Pakistan has no plans to extend the deadline for the return of Afghan refugees.

In a weekly media briefing in Islamabad on Thursday, he said that the issue of terrorist sanctuaries on Afghan soil is very concerning. He said that terrorist sanctuaries in Afghanistan are a serious obstacle in Pak-Afghan relations, and making the world aware of India’s state terrorism.

Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan said that the March 31 deadline set for the deportation of Afghan refugees will not be changed.

He said that Pakistan will continue talks until this issue is resolved.

The Foreign Office Spokesperson said that Pakistan is making the world aware of India’s state terrorism. He said that raids on the homes of Hurriyat leaders are a cause for concern.

Responding to a question, he welcomed the Russia-Ukraine limited ceasefire deal and hoped that the ceasefire would continue.
He said that the bill to impose sanctions on Pakistan reflects the thinking of a single person.
