PESHAWAR: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali has firmly stated that there will be no further dialogue with disgruntled party members ahead of the upcoming Senate elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
During interview with private media outlet on Saturday, Gohar expressed surprise over reports that some sitting lawmakers were backing the dissenting candidates. “There will be no more negotiations with the dissidents. It’s disappointing that some members are supporting them,” he said, adding that the party’s decisions are final and leave no room for ambiguity.
He confirmed that the Senate elections, scheduled for July 21, will proceed as planned.
PTI has been facing internal tensions in KP over Senate ticket allocations, with several senior leaders and long-time party workers expressing dissatisfaction. Among the protesting members are Irfan Saleem, Ayesha Bano, Waqas Orakzai, and Khurram Zeeshan, who claim that the party has sidelined loyal members in favor of others.
The party remains committed to moving forward with its selected nominees, dismissing internal objections.
