LAHORE: The Lahore Anti-Terrorism Court has issued non-bailable arrest warrants for four key PTI leaders including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur for their failure to appear in the case of alleged violence against police during the Lahore protest of the PTI held on October 5, 2023.
The court made this decision at the request of the Masti Gate police station. While issuing the warrants, the Administrative Judge of the Anti-Terrorism Court, Manzar Ali Gul, stated that the accused were not joining the investigation despite repeated notices.
The leaders against whom the arrest warrants have been issued include Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, PTI leaders Hammad Azhar, Saeed Sindhu and Shahbaz Ahmed.
The police took the stand that these four people allegedly played a role in violence against police personnel during the protest, against which a case was registered at the Masti Gate police station.
The court has ordered that all the wanted leaders be arrested and produced in court so that the case can proceed. The next hearing date for the case is expected soon.
